We’re nearly two and a half months into 2019 – have you incorporated Living Coral, Pantone’s Colour of the Year, into your home yet?

This lively and bright colour is a far cry from the tame blue and purple trends of 2018. While using coral may seem daunting, there are an array of ways to incorporate it into your home.

Pop of Colour

If you're only looking to dip your toe into using bright colours, start small by incorporating one or two items into your space – throw pillows, a piece of furniture or a rug are great places to start. The exciting thing about coral is that it can be coupled with a range of tones, from greens and blues to brass and wooden materials.

Pick a Pattern

This is a fun colour, so don’t forget to have a little fun with it! A less subtle approach to using coral is to opt for a wallpaper with coloured accents. We especially love this look for bathrooms – play it up by painting the vanity or door in coral to tie the room together.

Go for Bold

If you’re more comfortable with colour, go for bold and make coral the star of the room by painting yourself a bright feature wall. Coral makes for a vibrant backdrop and is accentuated when paired with cool colours like blues and greys and compliments a warm brown palette.
